Widemouth Bay sands is a very long open bay with a varied and interesting beach.

At the more northerly end of Widemouth there is a large sandy area that becomes more exposed has the tide drops, and to either side of this area the sand gives way to some amazing rock formations of interest not only to the geologists amongst you.

The beach is ideal for families and offers a variety of seaside activities. Whether you wish to swim, sunbathe, surf, hunt for marine life in the hundreds of rock pools or just comb the beach for that personal memento, Widemouth offers all this and more. There is ample parking at Widemouth and there are several campsites and other forms of accommodation in the locality. The sun is on the beach almost all of the day with the exception of very early in the morning and the sunsets here are fabulous. This stretch of coast is steeped in the smuggling history of times before, and not far south of Widemouth bay can be found some amazing little inlets and coves.

There are beach shops, surf hire shops and other facilities here at Widemouth bay and Bude town with all it has to offer is only a couple of minutes down the road.

Widemouth bay is fabulous for surfing. Just look at those waves.

Please note that the tide does come in quick across this long flat expanse.

There are lifeguards present during the season....and they are there for a reason....

Beach house wet fish are retail and wholesale sellers of fresh wet fish and shellfish has well as quality frozen fish, shellfish and fresh Cornish smoked fish. Easter to October crab and lobster from Bude. We are boat agents for licensed fishermen at Bude. We also buy day caught fish from Looe known internationally for there day caught quality fish and shellfish. The boats leave with the tide and return the same evening. We buy the fish sold each morning at the auction at Looe. We deliver the fresh fish daily to hotels restaurants and pubs in Bude and the surrounding area. We process and prepare our fish to customers requirements and& vacuum pack if required.
